I was asked to create a logo and a portfolio website for a photographer. Beginning with the logo, they were inspired by signature/script fonts and simple shapes. I created a large and small variation, using a play on a macro symbol to portray photography, and used a CMYK inspired colour palette I could carry through the branding.
For the website, cleanliness and simplicity were key, but I was insistent on creating a unique footprint with the landing page and navigation, to differentiate it from other portfolio sites. I also created two different headers for this purpose, to utilize both styles of the logo.
Special considerations for me throughout this process were ensuring the site would be fully responsive and meet (at least) AA accessibility standards. I built the site using WordPress and
the website-building theme, Avada.
Challenges included creating two separate portfolio pages, one for photo editing and one for photography itself. I also opted to create a small sticky footer so the copyright notice would be ever-present on the screen to hopefully deter right-click-saves.
